Swathy Krishna M.V.: From Skating Rinks to World Records

In a country where only a few sports grab the spotlight, there are athletes who quietly build extraordinary legacies. Swathy Krishna M.V. is one of them — a woman who chose speed, discipline, and dedication over comfort and, in return, earned a place among India’s most inspiring multi-sport athletes.

Her journey began at just 11 years old, when she first stepped onto skates. What started as curiosity soon turned into commitment. Over the next 13+ years, skating evolved into something much bigger — a path that led her into the intense, fast-paced worlds of Roll Ball, Roller Netted Ball.

A Sport That Demands Everything

Roll Ball isn’t an easy sport. It combines the speed of skating with the skills of basketball and handball, making it one of the most physically demanding team games. Every match requires razor-sharp ball control, coordination, and courage — injuries are common, and training facilities are often limited.

Yet Swathy never saw these as excuses. She saw them as challenges.

“I believe in dreaming big and working hard,” she says. “Consistency is what really makes the difference.”

That mindset pushed her to train harder, fall less, and rise stronger.

Wearing the Indian Jersey

In 2024, Swathy reached a major milestone in her career — she represented India at the International Roller Netted Ball Championship, where she and her team secured a Silver Medal. Competing against the best in the world, she proved that Indian roller sports deserve global recognition.

Her success didn’t stop there.

At the national level, she clinched Gold at the 8th National Roller Netted Ball Championship and Silver at the 7th National Championship. She also proudly represented her state at the 19th and 20th National Roll Ball Championships, continuing to build a strong competitive record.

Speed, Year After Year

Swathy’s dominance extends beyond team sports. In Quad Speed Skating, she achieved something truly special—winning Gold at the MG University Championships for four consecutive years: 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Consistency at this level isn’t luck. It’s the result of discipline, daily effort, and a relentless hunger to improve.

A World Record Beyond Sport

What makes Swathy’s story even more powerful is her ability to push her limits beyond the rink.

She holds a World Record in the yoga posture Supta Virasana (Reclined Hero Pose), maintaining the position for 1 hour, 40 minutes, and 3 seconds, breaking the previous global record.

It’s a rare combination — an athlete who masters both explosive speed and deep stillness. For Swathy, yoga is not just flexibility; it’s mental strength, balance, and recovery.

Giving Back as a Coach

Swathy is not only a champion—she’s also a mentor. After completing the NIS Coaching Course in Roll Ball from the Sports Authority of India, she now works as a professional coach, training young athletes and helping them believe in their own potential.

Her goal is simple: to ensure that upcoming players don’t have to struggle the way she did.

The Spirit Bepocart Stands For

At Bepocart, we believe in spotlighting athletes who go beyond medals — athletes who represent grit, resilience, and purpose. Swathy Krishna M.V. is exactly that.

She didn’t choose the easiest sport.
She didn’t wait for perfect conditions.
She chose to work, to believe, and to keep going.

And today, her story is a reminder that even in the most underrated sports, champions are being made — one hard day at a time
